We are made with Love in these 9 steps:

Sourcing materials – socks, stuffings, detailing parts, etc.

All materials are purchased locally throughout the Greater Toronto Area, in support of the local economy.

Checking and folding of socks

Due diligence is necessary to ensure socks are in good condition and properly prepped (Some socks don’t make it. They are saved for other projects). Each pair is then folded into relatively similar height.

Shaping silhouette

What animal is each of us representing? What should we look like – shape of ears, nose, beaks, etc. Will we have perky ears, small ears, big ears? Should our features be shaped through folding or fastening to maximize our beauty and durability? You see, this is no small task… it involves lots of imagination and extensive stress test.

Stuffing

We are stuffed into relatively similar bulkiness. Some of us require more stuffing than others, given the sizes of the facial cotton (notice, we’re stuffed with cosmetic grade cotton balls to ensure cleanliness and safety). Again, lots of fitting work.

Detailing – eyes, nose, beak, whiskers, etc.

Now, the attach-able parts. Extra effort is put in to ensure they stay as secure as possible. That being said, they could still post choking hazards so we are not recommended for children aged 3 and under. We are meant to be decorations, not toys. When we are done our decorating days, you can take us apart and we will still warm your toes with love.

Decorating – ribbons, tag, hat, etc.

Each of us wears a tag with a wish matching our character. If I am a penguin, I may say “ha PINGU holiday”. If I’m a puppy, I may say “Happy HOWLidays” or “WOOFY holidays”, so on so forth. Each tag is beautifully handwritten (I mean… who handwrites anymore these days eh… but handwriting is so much more special!) We wear the tags on a ribbon with coordinating colour and design.

Sealing

To make sure we hold our shape and stuffing, each of us wear a label seal. Our seals are personalize-able with the recipients’ names. As well as an extra reminder that he/she is loved and known by name.
